Mark Read has been a producer or coordinating producer on four short documentary films, and is currently working on a feature-length film about the transformation of Coney Island.

The theme that most clearly resonates throughout this body of work is the struggle of everyday people to forge a more just and equitable society, both nationally and internationally.  Whether following a group of doctors and nurses in the highlands of Guatemala;  getting to know a group of radical puppeteers in Vermont; or shedding light on the plight of U.S. soldiers in occupied Iraq, Mark strives to illuminate the contex of struggle, and the underlying motivations of the individuals involved in it.  You can view excerpts of his films by going to the works page, or contacting him to receive a DVD.
